ʻATENISI CONSTITUTION

The former constitution of ʻAtenisi Institute Incorporated from 1966 was destroyed during the commotion of November 2006. On the retirement of institute founder Dr ʻIlaisa Futa Helu in 2007, a new constitution was drafted and the institute re-registered on 10 November 2009 as incorporated society number 239.

MEMBERS

Membership of the institute is open to those individuals and organisations who wish to participate in the institute. Every year in late March a general meeting (see below) is scheduled during which members may elect a board of directors for the coming year.

Request for membership. Prospective members may complete this application form and forward it to the secretary at the address above, preferably by email, and the secretary will promptly acknowledge receipt. Alternatively the form may be sent by post, but receipt will only be acknowledged by email. Those who are unable to electronically download the application form and constitution may have a copy posted to them at a surcharge of T$ 5, (T$ 10 overseas).

Once the board has approved a membership request, it will be put to the general (or special) meeting for the final decision. If accepted, the new member will be installed on receipt of the annual membership fee, currently T$ 20.

At this moment the board only wants to consider prospective members from whom a lot of experience and vision can be expected. Applicants may want to add an explanatory letter to their application form.

Members only: you can check here your current membership status or apply address changes.

GENERAL MEETING

The next annual general meeting will be in March 2011. Membership payments, candidacies for officers' posts, etc. will be taken from January 2011 onwards.
